Chinn Sensei at Christmas Party 2014

On December 13 2015, Torrance Aikido Club members, family and friends convened at El Paso Cantina to celebrate the holidays and especially Chinn Sensei’s 80th birthday.

Many former students attended the party as well. Chinn Sensei has had a long and distinguished career in Aikido and remains one of the few still-active original students of Tohei Sensei. We will be forever grateful for his kindness and generous teaching over these many years.

Students presented Chinn Sensei with an embroidered jacket, a calendar featuring photos of Chinn Sensei over the years, a plaque of Tohei Sensei’s original calligraphy graciously donated by Ed Grover Sensei, and last but not least a brown sugar mochi mousse cake!
