Oki sensei visited to Torrance Aikido Club

Oki sensei who has been practicing Shin-Shin-Toitsu Aikido for more than 20 years in Japan visited and joined our practice on June 18 and 20.

We have learned some tips from him, but also have fun time to practice with him.  Thank you Oki sensei!

Ki Class with Chinn sensei, February 2018

Torrance Aikido Club’s first Ki Class in 2018 was held on February, 21st . instructed by Chinn Sensei, Chief instructor of Southern CA Ki Society. 

Ki Class is not only focused on techniques, strength or weakness, but focus more on learning how to coordinate our mind and body.

The ultimate purpose of our study is to unify mind and body and become one with the Universe.  The Ki Classes help us moving forward to the goal.  Thank you Chinn Sensei!        

Sally Sensei from Minnesota had been joining to our practices for few months, and also joined to the Ki Class.  She used to live in Torrance long years ago, and was a member of Torrance Aikido Club.  Thank you for visiting us!

New Year with Kagami Biraki ceremony 2018

Happy New Year!  Torrance Aikido Club brought in the New Year with our Kagami Biraki ceremony on January 8th. 

Chinn sensei, now the advisor of Southern California Ki Society, blessed the dojo, then leaded the students for Misogi bell chanting.  After the ceremony, Chinn sensei introduced Young sensei as Head Instructor of Torrance Aikido Club. 

The class ended with sushi, tea, pastries and other goodies.  With Young sensei, Torrance Aikido Club is moving forward in 2018 !
